I'm speaking about a television grandfather, Zeb Walton as portrayed by actor Will Geer in the television program, The Waltons.
It has been said that there was little difference between the character of Grandpa Walton and the actor who played him. Much of the dialog reflected Geer's own philosophy of life.
I found a clip from the program. Grandpa is speaking with the Walton children about Christmas wishes. This three and a half minute excerpt says more than most sermons 10 times the length. See if you agree.
What is Sunday without some hymn singing? Last week I posted a video I had made from the old time radio program "Down Our Way." The show revolved around a small town community choir who got together each week in the parlor of Eli and Jenny Jenkins to practice. Each episode ended with a hymn. The following video is a compilation of the hymns from a few of those shows.
You are cordially invited by the folks "Down Our Way" to sing along.
Have a peaceful day.
